This 30 minute flying lesson is a great way to discover the thrill of flight. Upon arriving at the airport you will be introduced to your flight instructor for the day. Your instructor will familiarise you to the cockpit controls and give you a routine safety briefing, before you are led out onto the apron and climb into the aeroplane. Your flight will take place in a Cessna 152 - a two-seat aeroplane. The supplier also runs a PA28 Cherokee - a larger four-seat aeroplane which is available for a supplement, subject to availability on the day of your flight. If you choose the PA28 Cherokee you are encouraged to bring one friend along to sit in the back of the aircraft to observe the flight. You are free to participate as much or as little as you wish. Typical tasks you could perform include: Engine starting; Checklist Drills; Aircraft Taxiing; Takeoff; Cruise; Turns and Descent. Where your flight takes you is up to the individual. Particular favourites are Liverpool City Centre, North Wales Coast, Liverpool and Everton Football Grounds, Wirral Peninsular, Chester City Centre or maybe your own house!
Your voucher is valid for 10 months for one person. Minimum age: 12 years. Height restrictions apply. Strict weight restrictions apply - please contact the supplier before your flight if above 16 Stone/102Kgs. As aviation requires good weather conditions, flights are subject to cancellation at short notice - please check with the supplier on the day of the experience. All participants should ensure that they are in good health and if in doubt should seek the medical advice of their GP. The Instructor, as Captain of the aircraft can, at his/her discretion refuse to allow any person on board the aircraft if he/she suspects them to have consumed alcohol or drugs within the previous 24 hours. All dates are subject to availability.

A taster from our blog

david coulthardWith the current F1 season on a break until the Belgium Grand Prix in Spa on 28th August, I thought a reflection over the previous three races could shine some light on what to expect for the rest of the season. As some of you have had track days with the driving experiences from Great Experience Days, it will be no surprise that fortunes on the track can change. Red Bull have been unsuccessful in the last three races, giving McLaren and Ferrari opportunities to raise their game. When it comes to the next race, there is a lot to play for and all the top drivers are going to be looking to strip away points from Vettels lead. The key to fortunes on the track involve the car, the tyres, driving style and the team behind you, plus there are other factors such as the weather, we only have to look at Button to see how unfavourable weather conditions can affect the results of a race, in his case it was for victory in Hungary. If there is one thing you can be sure of in racing, it is the uncertainty! DC
