2012 F1 Season

david coulthardThe new Formula one season is just around the corner, with the first race
being held at Albert Park in Melbourne on 18th March 2012. It is set to be
an exciting season, with the latest Red Bull car being unveiled, known as
the RB8. But, with tighter restrictions on exhaust systems, will this impact
on the dominance they showed last year? We will have to wait and see.

If March seems a long time to wait, don’t forget Mercedes are unveiling
their challenger to the season with their new F1 W03 on 21st February, there is
sure to be plenty of action from Schumacher and Rosberg this year.

As ever, the tyres will be an important aspect to the 2012 F1 season, the
Pirelli tyres have been designed to give greater grip to the rear of the car
following the changes to the aerodynamics this year.

The season is about to begin, my friends at Great Experience Days are avidly
keeping their eyes on the testing sessions and soon Australia beckons.

These monster days out are one to remember, you get to drive around a fantastic course, with the peace of mind you are the biggest thing out there, but if that’s still not enough, we have experiences that will let you try out three different trucks, so you can get a even more experience.

Short Breaks, Long Weekends

No Room For A Donkey

adopt a donkeyIf you love Donkeys but lack the space to keep one, why not adopt one, there are Donkeys and other animals that need your love.  You or someone you know could adopt an animal who really needs it, but you don’t have to worry about looking after the cutie, as they are looked after by specialist sanctuaries and conservationists.

At Great Experience Days it’s not just about your experience but also the animal you adopt, the meerkat adoption packs help with the care of meerkats in Africa, or you can adopt an animal at a zoo, where you can have your name added to the board of honour scroll, right next to where the animal you chose lives.

Adopting animals is great for kids as they get involved in conservation at an early age, they also get details of the animal they are helping, if they adopt a zoo animal, they can go and see the animal and say “hi”.

Are You a Closet Thrill Seeker?

zombie battleCan you walk past a skateboard without placing on foot on it?  Do you get excited when it snows?  Is there excitement in your belly when you hear the sound of revving engines?  All of us have something that gets our pulses racing in excitement, but for the closet thrill seeker our experience days will bring you out in the open.  OK, we can’t put you in a Zorb and roll you to work, but we can put a smile on your face after a day of extreme activities, just depends how much of a thrill and adrenaline rush you are after.

How about Zombie battles?  Learn how to take out a zombie with military precision.  You never know when you’ll encounter the walking dead in day to day life, at least now, you’ll be prepared.  If this feels too safe for you, how about a 300ft bungee jump, you’ll hurtle to ground and be snapped to safety just in time. Christmas Gifts for Kids

Seeing the joy on children’s faces at Christmas is an experience in itself, at Great Experience Days we have some fantastic presents for kids, that will not only bring a smile to their little faces at Christmas but also during the year.

Something to aim for

david coulthardSebastian Vettel is the F1 world champion for 2011 but this didn’t stop him proving his credentials once again on the new circuit in India last weekend.  It seems chasing statistics is just as motivating as winning the championship for the second year running.

Vettel like myself, started out in karts at a young age and my friends at Great Experience Days also offer karting days for those who want to follow in the footsteps of Grand Prix winners.  Although, we both have left karts behind us, Vettel seems determined to build upon his success over the last two years and staked his claim as the first past the chequered flag in India.  There does at the moment only seem to be one other person who can chase the coat tails of the champion.  Jenson Button is once again proving why he was 2009 winner and although there are only two races left in the season, Jenson is certainly putting the pressure on the others to make sure he is second in the championship.

From karting champion to F1 world champion, there is always something to aim for.
